Fabeleka — Report Suspicious Activity Policy
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to provide clear guidance for customers, partners, and employees of Fabeleka on how to recognize, report, and respond to suspicious activity that may indicate fraud, security threats, or other malicious behavior. This helps protect our customers, merchants, and platform integrity.
Scope
This policy applies to:
- All users of the Fabeleka platform (buyers, sellers, and guests)
- Fabeleka employees and contractors
- Third-party partners and service providers interacting with the platform
Definitions
- Suspicious activity: Any behavior or event that may indicate fraud, unauthorized access, money laundering, account takeover, data breach, or other security or compliance risks. Examples include but are not limited to:
- Unauthorized transactions
- Multiple failed login attempts
- Unfamiliar device or location access
- Sudden large or unusual purchases/refunds
- Requests for sensitive account information
- Phishing messages or suspicious links
- Fake listings, counterfeit items, or misleading seller behavior
- Social engineering attempts targeting users or staff
Reporting Channels
- In-app/reporting form: Use the “Report” or “Help” button within your account to submit suspicious activity. (Preferred for account-linked reports.)
- Contact Us — for detailed incident reports, attachments, and evidence.
- Contact Us (urgent): — for immediate threats such as extortion, threats of violence, or large-scale fraud.
- Anonymous tip: Use our web form at https://www.fabeleka.com/report-anonymous (if available) to submit tips without identifying yourself.
- Law enforcement: If you are in immediate danger or a crime is occurring, call your local emergency services first and then notify Fabeleka.
What to Include in a Report
When reporting suspicious activity, provide as much of the following as possible:
- Your name and contact information (unless reporting anonymously)
- Account username or email involved
- Date and time(s) of the incident (with time zone if known)
- Description of the suspicious activity
- URLs, listing IDs, transaction IDs, order numbers
- Screenshots, message logs, email headers, or other attachments
- IP addresses, device fingerprints, or geolocation (if available)
- Any steps you took (e.g., password reset, contacted seller)
- Names of other users involved (if known)
Response and Triage
- Acknowledgement: We will acknowledge receipt of reports submitted via authenticated channels within 24 hours.
- Triage: Reports are triaged by severity and potential impact. High-severity incidents (financial loss, active threats) receive immediate attention.
- Investigation: Our security and trust teams investigate reports using logs, transaction histories, device data, and other evidence. We may temporarily suspend accounts or transactions pending investigation.
- Communication: We will keep the reporter updated on status where appropriate, while protecting privacy and investigative integrity. Some details may be withheld to avoid compromising investigations.
- Remediation: If wrongdoing is confirmed, we may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, reverse transactions when possible, and implement technical or policy changes to prevent recurrence.
- Law enforcement: For criminal activity, we will cooperate with law enforcement and may provide logs and evidence under appropriate legal process.
Protection for Reporters
- Confidentiality: We treat reports confidentially and limit disclosure to those who need to know for investigation and remediation.
- No retaliation: Users who report in good faith will not face retaliation from Fabeleka. False reporting with malicious intent may result in account action.
- Anonymous reporting: Available for those who prefer not to identify themselves; however, anonymous reports may limit our ability to follow up.
User Responsibilities
- Keep account credentials secure; use strong unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) where available.
- Report suspicious activity promptly.
- Do not engage with suspected scammers; avoid sending additional funds or sharing sensitive personal information.
- Preserve evidence (screenshots, messages) to support investigations.
Internal Controls & Monitoring
- Fabeleka maintains automated systems to detect suspicious patterns (fraud detection, bot detection, anomaly detection).
- Regular audits and security assessments are conducted.
- Staff receive training on identifying and handling suspicious activity, privacy, and legal obligations.
Enforcement
- Violations of this policy or platform rules may result in warnings, temporary holds, account suspension, or permanent bans, depending on severity.
- Where appropriate, Fabeleka will pursue civil remedies and cooperate with criminal prosecution.
Policy Review
This policy is reviewed at least annually and updated as needed to reflect evolving threats, legal requirements, and platform changes.
